A new opportunity to enhance your research administration skills, and strengthen our research community

Dr. Stacey S Patterson, Vice President for Research provides the December Federal Update to FSU's Research Community.

Beginning October 10, 2025, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and January 25, 2026*, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will require all “senior/key personnel” listed in grant applications to complete research security training within 12 months prior to proposal submission with annual refresher training thereafter. This training requirement is currently in place for the Department of Energy, and we expect all federal agencies to implement the requirement soon.

Generative AI-powered tools have the potential to accelerate the literature review process. In this workshop, we will discuss how to leverage AI effectively and responsibly and demonstrate how to utilize these tools through prompt engineering. Learners will have the opportunity to try out a variety of AI-powered tools for themselves and discuss their experiences with other participants.

The Florida State University Libraries are offering a 1-year pilot subscription to Scite.ai for all FSU users, valid until March 6, 2026.
