Join us to hear Heather Joseph share her insights and experiences from her extensive work with national and international organizations advancing open research and fostering community-driven solutions for knowledge sharing.
Since 2005, Heather has led SPARC’s efforts to promote open and equitable global research and education systems. Under her guidance, SPARC has become a leading advocacy organization, influencing public policy towards open knowledge sharing, including the 2022 White House Memorandum on open access to federally funded research. She has advised various national boards and committees, incentivized knowledge sharing through initiatives like the U.S. National Academies’ Roundtable on Aligning Incentives to Support Open Science, and promoted open research sharing with organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank, collaborating globally through SPARC’s network in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
