Dewey Data: Commercial Datasets for Social Science Researchers
FSU Libraries has initiated a 1-year pilot subscription to Dewey Data, now available to all FSU users. This platform consolidates datasets from over thirty commercial providers, offering researchers single-subscription access to a wide variety of information. Datasets cover areas such as foot traffic, real estate, consumer spending, web traffic, and points of interest, supporting research across disciplines including economics, public health, and urban studies.
Researchers can search, filter, and combine datasets within the platform. This setup reduces the need to work with multiple vendors or negotiate separate data licenses. Dewey provides access to hundreds of datasets with thousands of individual data attributes, giving researchers a broad set of options for analysis.
The service also offers support for academic users. Documentation is available for every data provider and dataset. This documentation resource can help users with questions related to licensing, selecting the appropriate data, and incorporating data into their research workflows and publications.
