NIH Common Forms: Enforcement Began May 8, 2026

Beginning May 8, 2026, all NIH applications and applicable post-award submissions must use the required Common Forms and pass NIH system validation.

The following forms will be required for:

• New and renewal applications
• Just-In-Time (JIT) submissions
• Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs)
• Prior Approval requests

Required documents include:

• Common Form for Biographical Sketch
• Common Form for Current and Pending (Other) Support
• NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement
