The Office of Research currently offers Advanced eSPEAR courses in both online (self-paced) and virtual/zoom format. In some cases these courses are offered in both formats, as noted below. Online courses are available year round, while the virtual/zoom sessions are held on a periodic basis throughout the year. Covers the services and initiatives FSU Libraries offer to support these areas of growth, and provides some examples using the NIH Public Access Policy. This course is a pre-requisite for ESP17. |

As more federal agencies make data management plans a required part of grant application, researchers are left with questions on how to fulfill these new requirements. Q. What's the difference between virtual/zoom and online courses?
The content for each course is the same. However, virtual/zoom sessions are hosted by a presenter and held periodically throughout the year, while online courses are available to take year round. Online courses are self-paced, and allow you to review the content on your own.
Q. Can I take both the virtual/zoom and online courses?
Yes, you're free to take both. However, you may only claim CE credits for one session per year.
Q. Why aren't all of the courses offered in an online format?
The Office of Research is currently working to convert all of the Advanced courses to an online format. If/when a new course is available an announcement will be made.
